I’m Nesta, an Organisational Development Consultant with a deep passion for workforce development, staff engagement, and championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). My mission is simple yet impactful: to create sustainable, equitable, and thriving workplaces where people feel valued, empowered, and inspired to excel.
With a rich career spanning both public and private sectors, I bring a strong track record of working at strategic and system levels. My journey has seen me develop innovative solutions and lead transformational initiatives, from my early days in the NHS and academia to my current role as a trusted advisor and consultant.
Among the achievements I am most proud of are:
• Leading the design and rollout of the Foundation Degree for unregistered staff within the NHS.
• Designing a tailored Equality Impact Assessment tool which I used to assess equity for the merger of East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trusts.
• Implementing the RCN Cultural Ambassador Programme across NHS England, fostering cultural competence and inclusion.
• Successfully turning around poor-performing practices and services in primary care while collaborating closely with commissioners, GPs, and staff.
More recently a gratifying experience of my career was when I led a team to Botswana to recruit 80 international nurses, followed by developing and implementing a seamless integration strategy to support the new nurses arrival and integration with existing staff and cultures.
As a qualified CQ (Cultural Intelligence) facilitator and Nye Bevan graduate with a master’s degree in Leading Private & Public Sector Change, I have refined my ability to navigate sensitive, complex conversations around race, cultural competencies, workforce performance, and more. Whether I am engaging with board-level executives or frontline staff, I bring empathy, clarity, and a solutions-orientated approach to my interactions.
Recently, I collaborated with a forensic trust to examine and reshape its organisational culture within a forensics unit. With board approval of the findings, we co-created a values-based training and development programme that aligned with their vision and operational goals, a project that demonstrates my commitment to driving meaningful change.
At the heart of my work is a belief in the power of sophisticated dialogue, transformational thinking, resilient action and a huge sprinkling of grace. I see myself as a solution engineer, ready to partner with you to overcome challenges, structure new paths, and build sustainable solutions that make a real difference.
